Raw vs JPEG – the debate rolls on, and while each to their own, the fact remains that JPEG quality has come on in leaps and bounds. In this issue, we revisit some of the reasons for shooting JPEG. German shepherds became known as alsatians at the end of the First World War, when breeders became worried that German name would affect popularity. They were named instead after the French region of Alsace, which borders Germany. This location had been on my list of places to visit ever since I started taking photographs.
