THE WORLD Photography Organisation (WPO) has revealed a record entry of over 156,000 to the Professional competition for the Sony World Photography Awards 2022.
Now in its 15th year, the Awards’ Professional competition overall winner will be announced on 12 April and gets the title ‘Photographer of the Year 2022’.
A selection of images will be exhibited as part of the Sony World Photography Awards showcase at Somerset House, London, from 13 April to 2 May.
The ten Professional categories are: Architecture & Design, Creative, Documentary Projects (see Win McNamee’s image above, from the project ‘Insurrection’), Environment, Landscape, Portfolio, Portraiture, Sport, Still Life and Wildlife & Nature.
