Better before
That was a terrific article on Rosella Vanon and her tips for editing fashion and beauty. I read carefully through her workflows and scrutinised the before and after image sequences, appreciating the subtle but effective changes she explained, all spot-on. Really. At the end of the article, though, I realised that, if I bumped into the model as shown in the final, after, image, I would walk past, muttering, ‘Don’t bother there, my son, it’s just unreal fantasy.’ Yet I would stand transfixed by the model as shown in the first, ‘before’ image, thinking, ‘By ‘eck love, you’re gorgeous, can I take your photo?’ Funny, that. It might explain why I subscribe to AP, and not Vogue.
