Community gardeners are in with a chance to win funds for their plots thanks to the National Garden Scheme (NGS).
Applications for the 2026 Community Garden Grant run by the NGS and supported by the Julia Rausing Trust opened on Monday, September 15 and close on Monday, October 20. Due to the popularity of the initiative, only the first 300 applications will be considered.
These grants provide funding to community groups in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands to create or complete a garden or similar project, such as an allotment, for the benefit of the local community or charitable group.
This past year, 114 community garden projects received grants between £1,000 and £5,000, totalling £288,876.
